on Winter/Spring activities and programs that are scheduled in Findlay
Township.

Class size may
be limited in some cases. -

IS A MUST for most of the programs. There are several ways to register:

THE FINDLAY
TOWNSHIP ACTIVITY CENTER
Located on Main
Street in Imperial, The Activity Center will be the
site of many Township programs. The center has two floors, which
are also available to rent. The top floor, which seats 200, has a full
kitchen, bathroom and a complete sound/video system.
The bottom floor
seats 100, has bathroom facilities and carpeting.
It is ideal for
groups and business meetings. For additional information,

SENIOR CITIZENS
The Findlay Township
Senior Citizen’s Group (age 55+) meets on the third Wednesday
of each month (with the exception of July and August) . Monthly meetings
are held at noon at the Activity Center on Main Street in Imperial.
Each meeting includes lunch, bingo and sometimes guest speakers or entertainment.
Two (2) dollars is collected at the door each meeting that you attend.
The Township provides
a Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinner and a February Lunch each year for
the group. We are planning a few new trips this year that should be
interesting. A picnic in June is always a favorite of the members.

PAVILION
RENTAL
Pavilion rental
for Findlay Township Residents, Findlay Township Businesses
and Youth or Adult groups will begin Saturday, February
5th from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Township Office on
Route 30 in Clinton. Applications will be issued on a first come
/ first serve basis. You will be asked to pay the rental fee andalso
a $25.00 refundable deposit (2 separate checks please).
Beginning Monday,
February 7th, you may reserve online by logging onto www.findlay.pa.us.
(Go to interactive site / reservations) Call the Township Office if
you have any questions or need information about pavilions. Non-residents
may rent beginning April 1st.

ON YOUR CAR INSURANCE WITH THE AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM
The AARP Driver
Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest classroom driver
refresher course designed for motorist’s age 55 and older. This
eight- (8) hour course is taught in two, four-hour sessions spanning
two days. The course helps drivers refine existing skills and develop
safe, defensive-driving techniques. THERE ARE NO DRIVING TESTS!
Upon completing
the course, participants are eligible to receive a state-mandated multi-year
discount on their auto insurance premiums.

SENIOR CITIZEN
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Are you a Senior
Citizen looking for something worthwhile to do with your spare time?
If the answer is yes, then read on and find out how you can help the
children in our community. Wilson Elementary School is launching a new
volunteer program this year and is looking for caring and committed
Senior Citizens to be a part of it. The library, nurse’s office
and clerical office are all in need of help as well as the Junior Achievement
program and in-classroom tutoring . Volunteers will be required to attend
a 1 – 1 ½ hour training session before joining the program.
Help bridge the
gap between the generations and come and find out how you can be involved.

S.I.S. (SENIORS
IN SNEAKERS)
This class, which
is geared for Senior Citizens, focuses on many things that are important
to older adults. The program includes strengthening exercises and balance,
all of which can be done in a chair. You must fill out a simple health
history and sign a waiver form before you can exercise. Call Darlene
at the Township if you have any questions.

WATER AEROBICS

Do you need a variation
in your workout routine? Is inclement weather keeping you from outdoor
activities? Then come and join us for a low impact workout that is becoming
one of the new exercise crazes. Aquatic exercise is a fun way to exercise
heart and lungs while toning various muscles. The water provides a great
form of resistance with little to no impact on your muscle and skeletal
systems. All levels of ability can benefit from this activity.

DEEP WATER
NOODLE AEROBICS
This class is for
those of you who find the regular water aerobic class too long or too
difficult. Using pool noodles to keep you buoyant, instructor will guide
you through fun movements in the water. You can socialize while getting
exercise and you probably won’t even get your hair wet. This is
a drop in class and you can pay by the week. Pool noodles will be provided,
but make sure you bring a towel.

passenger lists and naturalization records. Learn how the Internet can
be one of the most useful tools you have in your search. The class will
show you how to piece together a paper trail that introduces you to
relatives you never knew existed and reveal a family history more rich
and fascinating that you could have ever guessed possible. Class assumes
no previous knowledge of terms or methods but will be illuminating for
genealogists of all abilities and interest levels.

FISHING DERBY
The annual Fishing
Derby will be held Saturday, May 28th from 7:00 AM until 12:00 noon.
The event takes place at Leopold Lake on Route 30 and is open to Findlay
Township residents 15 years and younger. Prizes will be awarded for
the biggest fish in each of four age categories: 5 and under; 6 –
8; 9-11 and 12-15.
This event is FREE,
however each participant must bring his or her own fishing rod, reel
and bait. Adult supervision will be mandatory for all participants 9
and under. COME AND JOIN THE FUN!
ANNUAL EASTER
EGG HUNT
The 8th Annual
Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 2:00 PM at Rainbow’s
End Playground in Clinton Park. As many as 4000 eggs may be hiding in
the park. All children preschool through 5th grade are welcome to join
the hunt. Participants will be grouped according to age with prize eggs
in each group. Children should bring their own baskets to carry goodies.
The hunt goes on rain or shine or even snow, so be prepared.
ADULT COOKING
CLASSES
The Kid’s
Creative Cooking Classes have been such a success, that we decided to
introduce some adult classes as well. Beat the winter blues and come
out and join us for an evening of education, good food and hopefully
a lot of fun. We will kick-off the program this winter with 2 classes.
If there is enough interest, we can continue through the spring. Classes
will be held at The Findlay Township Activity Center, 310 Main Street
in Imperial. The instructor is Joyce Anderson. She has taken numerous
classes at "The Crate" in Greentree and has lots of talent
to share with us.

MAKE SOUP STOCK – Friday, February 11th 6:00 PM –
8:00 PM (approx.)
Is bouillon better
than the stock you make for soup? Well if so, come to this class and
find out how to make a flavorful chicken stock that can be used in a
variety of dishes. For example, you’ll learn how to take that
stock and turn it into clam chowder or potato soup. At this session,
we will be making wedding soup (which, of course, will include meatballs).
Also, we will help you choose bread and wine to compliment your meal.

OVER 21 DODGEBALL
TOURNAMENT
The Findlay Township
Recreation Department and The North Fayette Parks and Recreation Board
will be hosting a 2 night dodgeball tournament. Teams will be made up
of 6-8 players. Six players will compete on a team at a time. Each team
will be allowed (1) 60 second timeout per game for substitution. Matches
will be decided using a "best of three" format. Registration
and payment will be taken as a team. Six matches will be played on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the consolation round and the top winner match will take
place.
First place in
the winner’s bracket will receive a T-shirt. Consolation round
winners will receive a hat.
Beat the winter
blues, get a team together and come out and play DODGEBALL. Spectators
are welcome.

Tennis lessons
Parents, let us
introduce the wonderful and fun game of tennis to the children of our
community. The hour- long tennis lesson held at Elm Street park will
provide basic instruction along with exercise and games. The format
of the session will be cut into four different segments 1. Racquet technique
2. Volleying skills 3.Drills 4.Minie games. Tennis is a life long sport
and this summer can be the beginning
BOY SCOUTS
FUNDRAISER
The Boy Scout Troop
830, Findlay Township, Clinton, Pa, need to replace their 20+ yr old
camping equipment trailer, and are selling beach towels to raise funds.
The towels are 34 x 70, white terry and are embroidered with the WA
name and Indian –Head logo. Pictures of the towels and order forms

will be taken through Monday, February 14th. Price is $15 per towel,
